Single- parent families can be explained as families where a parent lives with dependent children. There was a rapid and radical increase in the number of single-parent families in the latter half of the twentieth century. Single –parents families have been present in all societies.  There was a theatrical increase in single-parent families in the United States in the last three decades of the twentieth century. Single –parent families is a concept that defines families in which the father or mother is absent because of divorce, marital separation, and death. 28 percent of all families with children are still at home and maintained by one parent. However, troubles may occur if a close relationship or bond between a parent and child is broken.  A number of studies have demonstrated that single-parent children behave strangely in society. They feel lack of concentration about their parents. Many single-parents are run by mothers.

Impact On Emotions
Families that live in poverty tend to be more stressed as compared to rich families. This can carry over to the children and cause them to struggle with low self-esteem, frustration, anger and violent tendencies. Some children feel that they are alone in the world. A family is a group of people in which two or more people are together with blood tide and marriage. The family is defined as a complex structure that has a common history, togetherness, and individual action plan. The family is one of the effective institutions that guide children for the development, integration and socialization.

Impact On Social Life
Many children from single-parent are affected by numerous reasons. They tend to live into a state of depression and loneliness. This often occurs, because, the one parent is forever working and has no time for kids. A child often feels alone and thinks that their parents do not care for him or her. When the children enter the state of loneliness, they spend most of their time in their bedroom alone.  If you want to become a successful parent, you should give importance to your children. Spend more time with your children and try to understand their feelings as well as happiness. Make sure that they have everything they require to succeed in life.
